My name is Lis-Marie Alvarado, and I am an immigrant from Nicaragua. I am an undergrad student at Florida International University, where I will be getting a bachelor in Ant/Soc and another one in Women's Studies. As well, I will be completing a minor in Communications and one in International Relations with a certificate in Latin American Studies. My main goal for attending FIU is not only to increased my educational and job opportunities, but most importantly, to keep fighting for a reevaluation of traditional views of women's role in society and to continue a life of social-justice activism.
